In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first human woman; Zeus ordered Hephaestus, the god of craftsmanship, to create her from water and earth. Aphrodite gave her beauty, Apollo music and healing, and from Poseidon a pearl necklace; hence her name, which means ‘all-gifted’. Today’s Pandora has the gifts of comfort, elegance and sped; and as she moves, her shimmering wake displays Poseidon’s pearls.
