Andros is an island that has enough tourism to be quite well organised, but not so much that it has become too commercialised. A fairly green island for the Cyclades, Andros offers some really nice beaches, pretty villages and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. It is the second largest island among the Cyclades, and its high mountains and deep valleys make an unforgettable impression. Although not a party island, the nightlife here is quite varied and those who love fishing, sailing and snorkelling will certainly find their paradise.

This exceptionally picturesque island lies close to the south-east coast of Attica.
The mountain masses, which are encountered in most of the Cyclades, are broken up by small valleys sparsely planted with vines and fruit-trees and run right down to the sea, opening out into pretty little bays. On the western side of the island is Agios Nikolaos bay and deep within it the port of Korissia, which is considered to be one of the safest natural harbours in the Mediterranean. Read more

Even though it is practically without vegetation, the locals live off growing olives and making wine besides tourism. The island is a little bit different from the other Cycladic islands, since its architecture is quite varied, and parts of the villages are quite modernized.

Only a few years ago, Milos was one of those quiet islands where you would only find empty beaches, very few taverns and nothing else. Today, it has become one of the "trendy" islands for young Greeks to go to in summer, and the island has turned into a quite exciting place. The big plus is that Greeks have a very relaxed attitude to alcohol, so the island is not particularly noisy, and you can sleep at night. Milos has many, many little bays - and if you rent a moped you can find a small beach of your own. This is very romantic and perfect for honeymooners and people that like their peace and quiet.

The locals on Sifnos live off agriculture, the natural source of aluminium and tourism, and the olive trees grow practically everywhere.

The great thing about this island is that it has everything a Greek island should have: nice beaches, taverns and bars, but it has not been too adjusted to tourism. The reason is that it is the administrative centre of the Cyclades, so the economy is doing well enough for people not to be too desperate for tourism.
It also has the for Greece very unusual characteristic that half the populations is Catholic. Despite the fact that the island is very harsh, people grow vegetables, make wine and breed animals. They also build ships and make cloth, which all helps the economy.
